Get Well Cards

For our next card club meeting we have to make 3 get well cards. I found some challenges that I wanted to enter, so I made a couple that would fit in. They have the same layout and design, but I chose different images, colors, and embellishments so that they would fit the challenges.

The first one is for the challenge over at My Besties. It is a Bingo challenge. I chose Flowers, Lace, and Blue. I have used one of her images that she offered on her blog for free. One of the things I like about this image is that she has already colored the clothing and accessories. I do not like to spend a lot of time coloring. I am not good at it and have a hard time staying in the lines. Both the diecut square and inside piece were inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink and then I inked the edges with Dried Marigold. I decided they were just too white. I added Glossy Accents to the lenses to make them look more real. I also used Winka Stella Glitter pens on the image to add sparkle-you just can't see it:(

The second card I did for Stamp and Create with Magnolia Thinking of Spring and Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Bling It Up. I used Watercan Tilda for the image. I left off the lace and added pearls inked with copics for my bling. I also added extra glitter with my stardust clear gellyroll pen to the tag. Both ribbons were inked with copics. The dies are from Lifestyle Crafts called Nesting Eyelet Squares. The tag is a label die by Spellbinders. I ran it through the Vagabond once to cut and again to emboss. The inside flowers are made with punches from EK Success and Fiskars. Sentiments are from Tim Holtz (tag) and Stampin UP (inside). This card also qualified for the Bingo challenge at Inkspirational Challenges using pearls, ribbon, and flowers.

Tilda Sympathy Card

A sympathy card is always the one type of card you hate to make, but unfortunately death is a part of life. One of my church family said goodbye to her father last week and so I made this card for her.

I lost my own father 2 years ago and as some of you know it is very difficult. I hope this will bring her some comfort. I chose Tilda Blowing Hearts for my image. I covered the area around her with Distress Ink Antique Linen  and Vintage Photo (around edges) and colored her with copics. The DP is some that I have had for years. I don't remember the brand. I thought it would go with the image since it's covered with hearts. I added Tim Holtz tape and inked it with Wild Honey Distress Ink. I also added PK Glitz embossing powder and glitter embossing powder to it also. The ribbon is some that came on a package a while back. It had hearts on it (and glitter) so I added it too.  The inside piece is also inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo (on edges). I popped my image with foam tape for added dimension and used my stardust jellyroll pen on the sentiment (my favorite pen). I also used Winka Stella glitter pens on Tilda's hair and the hearts for extra glitz and stickles on the bottom of her overalls. I just wish I could figure out how to take better pics so that the glitter will show up.

There is a giveway over at Floral Fantasies in which you have to make something using a favorite craft item. Magnolia stamps are definately my favorite stamps, but I love Tim Holtz products too. I used both since I couldn't decide which is actually my favorite.

Love To Scrap Challenge #24 Anything Goes

Click Here To Enter My Candy Giveaway going until until Feb. 28.

I am so loving the card that I made for this, my second DT creation for Love To Scrap. The challenge this time is Anything Goes. We have two sponsors:

I got to work with Lacy Sunshine image Bashful Buttons and Bows Boo. I think that she is just adorable. They have so many wonderful images to work with. I encourage you to check out their site.

Here is the card that I made:

I do not know why, but for some reason the computer rotated my close up. It is correct on the camera, but sideways here.

I have never made a card like this, but I received one in the mail. It is very easy to make. I started with a 12X6 piece of cardstock. I die cut the edges with Magnolia Doohickey Tilda Lace Die to kind of dress it up a little. Each side had to be cut twice because the die isn't long enough. It was a bit of a challenge to line the die up with the previous cut, but I did okay. I taped it in place so it wouldn't move. After that I just had to layer and color. I just wish the glitter from the stickles and pens showed up better:(

My First Design Team Post and Candy

Hello everyone. Today is the 3rd day of school missed this week, which means I have had extra time to run around and play. Sadly, Archiver's is going out of business:( Boo Hoo! I decided yesterday to make the 2 hour trip to see what was left. I found lots of goodies that I hope to be using soon. I wish all the Archiver employees luck as they search for new jobs. Those are so hard to find.

Today marks the first posting of what I hope to be a long run with the Love to Scrap challenge blog and Design Team. To celebrate this big step in my life and also my second Blogiversary, I will be giving away some candy at the end of this post. Make sure you read all the way to the end if you want to enter my giveaway.

February 3rd is the beginning of a new challenge at Love To Scrap. The theme is "Who Loves Ya, Baby!" You must use the word Love somewhere on your project. Our sponsors for this challenge are  A Day For Daisies and QKR Stampede. I used a digi image from A Day for Daisies called "Family Ties. Here is what I came up with:

I put the pin in to dress the card up a little, but then decided that I would give it to my 3-year-old granddaughter for Valentines Day. The pin will have to come out.

I wanted to do something a little different with this image. I printed this image 3 times-twice in black and once in brown. The first black image I used as my base layer. I then cut the branches out of the 2nd black image. I traced around them on brown cardstock and pieced them over the base layer. Then I colored the brown owls, cut them out and pieced them onto the base layer. I added Petaloo flowers and punched leaves to cover up the imperfections. For glitz I used stardust stickles on the words, butterflies, and flowers and orange peel stickles to the beaks and feet. The area around the image is colored with Copic BG10 and BG15. The ribbon is inked with RV66.

Here is a picture of the original image:
