First Easel Card

You will have to pardon my mess. I didn't realize that the image looked so cluttered. I didn't get my tools out of the way. This is my first try at an easel card. I watched a You Tube tutorial and then went to Splitcoast Stampers for more directions. This adorable image is provided by Doodle Pantry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge. This is the third challenge. I got the image early to see what I could come up with. The card was cut out on my Vagabond using the biggest Nesting Lace Circle die from Lifestyle Crafts. I then cut the image out with the next size down (after I colored it). I ran a gathering stitch along the bottom of some ribbon and pulled it to gather. I then attached the ribbon to the back of the image. To make the card I had to cut another large circle. I folded the front of the card in half (this makes the easel). I matched the large circle that I cut to the front of the card. I used my AGT gun to attach just the bottom half of the two circles together. I then attached the image with ribbon to the front of the card. I popped the sentiment with a foam square. I then decorated the inside of the card. The DP is from Bo Bunney. It is a piece of double sided paper. I used the large die to cut part of a circle. Then I reversed the paper and cut out another circle which I trimmed down to match up with the other piece. In order to match the front of the card, I again gathered a piece of ribbon and attached it to the bottom piece of DP. I attached everything to the inside of the card. I decided to make a pocket and stuck a tag inside. I made my own tag out of cream cardstock. The bottom picture is what the card looks like when it is closed. The top pic is when it is standing open. I think this image is one of my favorites so far. He looks so cheery:) Again, here is the link to the challenge:

Get Well Soon

I made this card for the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge. The digi image was provided by Priscilla Styles. I colored it with Copics and Distress Ink. I added stickles to the couch, flower centers and sentiment. I popped the sentiment with a foam square and added gray and white bakers twine. Here's a link to the challenge:

Candle and Box Craft

I saw this design at a store called Sol's in Berlin, Oh when I was on a trip to Amish Country. Berlin is probably the most popular town in this area of Holmes County. I thought it looked like something I could duplicate, so I tried it. The little girls are Magnolia Minis Tilda with Heart and Happy Spring Tilda. The box is a paper box tissue holder that I bought at a craft store. It is like chipboard. I painted it using acrylic paint (raw umber) and cream spray paint. I then flicked paint from a toothbrush onto the edges of the cream. I should have stamped and masked the images first, but I didn't. Lesson learned. I stamped the images and colored them with copics. I had to use paint on the faces because the flesh colored copics didn't show up. I printed the lettering using Word and hand cut the letters. I traced them onto the box and filled them in with a copic black marker. I added white to highlight. I covered the box with two coats of spray poly urethane for protection. The doily on top and the electric candle are attached using a hot glue gun. I added a pit berry ring and a bow. I hope you like it. I was pleased with my first attempt. Hopefully my next one will be even better.

Here are some challenges that I found that I could enter:

You're Sunthing Special

This card was created for the CDAC progressive challenge. The digi image was provided by Tiffany Doodles. It was colored with copics.  I used a snow writer to make the waves and drew birds in the sky with a black copic fine line pen. The surfboards were layered with paper from Bo Bunny. I used the same paper to mat the image. The sentiment is from Mary at Cardz TV Stamps. The Sun and Ball are from a stamp set by Penny Black. The embellishments are adhered using foam squares for dimension. I added Stickles to brighten it up (and because I love glittery things).

Here are the challenges I am entering:
