Joy to the World Christmas Card

I have made two variations of this card. I cannot take credit for the design. I scraplifted it from an Archiver's flyer that I got in the mail. The stamp is from Daily Bread Devotionals. The rest is just cardstock and Bakers Twine. The bottom piece is ran through an embossing folder. Here are the pics:

I made this for the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. We had to use pink for this challenge. I used white perfect pearls on the stamp (stamped w/ perfect medium). It didn't turn out very dark, so I will have to do something different I think next time. I don't have any winter magnolia stamps, so I used Sweetie Tilda. I placed her so that she is next to the tree with her gifts. The gifts are just squares of paper tied with bakers twine. I am entering this card in the following:

I did another version without Tilda using normal red and white. I like the clearer image. I stamped with Memento Lady Bug ink. Before it dried, I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder. I placed some rhinestones on it and used my clear stardust pen to outline the stars and big words.

Interactive Christmas Tag

I made this tag for the Magnolicious Highlites challenge. It doubles as a gift card holder. I don't really have any Christmas Magnolia Stamps, so I had to improvise. I used the mini Walter the Moose with the sentiment "Merry Christ-moose". I really like how it turned out. I just wish I had the regular size Walter. I think it may have looked better. The base of the tag is decorative paper from a Christmas paper pack that I have had for years. I cut it using the largest die from a set by Lifestyles Crafts. I cut a piece of dark green cardstock 1/2" bigger than the width of the paper. I then folded it in 1/4" on each side and adhered it in between the two pieces of DP. Using a lighter green cardstock, I cut the largest floral oval die from Spellbinders Nestabilities and mounted it on the front. Walter is stamped, colored with copics and cut out. The rosette was done using the rosette Tim Holtz die. The holly, poinsettias, and gift card holder were cut using the cricut Winter Wonderland cartridge. For the poinsettias, I layered dark green bases cut at 2" and 1 1/2" (two each) I then cut four 2" poinsettia flowers, six 1 1/2" flowers, and two 1" flowers. I layered two 2" and one 1 1/2" for the two bigger flowers and two 1 1/2" and one 1" for the smaller flowers. I used Christmas Red stickles to glitter them up and used yellow stickles for the centers. I used the red stickles on the holly berries and some green glitter glue (not stickles but similar) to the holly leaves and poinsettia leaves. The sentiment was made using microsoft word. I filled it a text box with greed and made the words white. I ran it through the printer twice to make it dark enough. I then used the next to the smallest Lifestyle Craft die to cut it out. The gift holder is outlined with the green glitter glue. I also took a poinsettia stamp and coordinating swirl stamp from the Poinsettia Flourish set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry and used Champaigne Versamark to stamp them all over the tag. I traced the outline with my Gellyroll Stardust Clear pen. I also used the pen to trace the elements on the DP. I punched a hole in the tag and added fiber. Walter is covered with Glossy Accents. I used Bakers Twine to make his bow.

I hope you like my tag. Here are the links to the challenges I entered:

White on White wedding card

This card was made for the wedding of some dear friends' son. I saw RRRs challenge of white on white with one other color and thought I would give it a try. The base is white cardstock. The DP is from a paper pack of white decorative paper. I took a copic marker and colored some of the flowers on the paper to contrast with the whiteness. The sentiment is printed from my computer onto white cardstock and cut out with a fancy oval die from spellbinders. I tried putting one through an embossing folder, but I didn't like it. The ribbon is white with silver thread. I colored the edges with the same copic that I used on the flowers. The dimensional roses were cut using the cricut Art Philosophy cartridge-one at 3", two at 2 1/4", and two at 1 1/2". I used blue glitter cardstock for them. I placed white pearls in the centers. Here is the link to RRRs challenge along with the other challenges I entered:

Manger Scene Christmas Card

Two posts in one evening. I never know when I will be able to get to the library, so I am posting both of my creations in one night. This is the Christmas card that I mass produced to send out this year. I made around 30 of them. It was a bit time consuming, but lots of fun. I like sending religious cards as a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

The ornament die and coordinating stamps are from Heartfelt Creations. Since I cut the ornament out to use the negative space on the outside of the card, I decided to use the ornament itself to decorate the inside. The blue paper is just cardstock. The ribbon was bought at a craft store. I colored white candy with a Martha Stewart glitter metallic silver marker. The nativity stamp I think is from either Stampendous or Hero Arts. I got it at Hobby Lobby. It is a wood mounted stamp. It is layered onto a square of white cardstock and popped up with foam squares. I used silver stickles on the star and more stickles on the stable. Here are some challenges I found to enter:

Nativity Canvas

I haven't posted anything for awhile. Christmas is such a busy time. I have been cardmaking and crafting some things though and I am finally taking some time to share. My mom collects nativity scenes and so I thought I would try making this canvas trio using some techniques learned at one of the classes taught at our local scrapbooking store. Here are the pictures:

These canvases were all done using tissue paper, stamps, black staz on ink and Chipped Saphire and Faded Jeans Distress Ink. The glitter is diamond stickles and yellow stickles (stars). A rhinestone was glued to the middle of the star. I attached the canvases to each other by stapling glittery ribbon to the backs of each one. I added a hanger to the back of the top canvas because it it a bit too heavy to try to hang by the ribbon. I found a different wise men and manger scene stamp after I did this, so I am going to try to make another one using the thinner canvas board. One will be a gift for my mom and the other one I will give to my friend Deena who happens to be our preacher's wife. I found some challenges to enter. Here are the links:
