Sending Smiles with Lacy Sunshine

This is just a quick post to share a card I made for Lacy Sunshine's Things With Wings Challenge. I used Tansy and made this card. I really like out it turned out.

I received a new paper pack for Christmas and found this pretty butterfly paper in it. These pictures do not do it justice since they wash out the color. Everything is stamped and inked in Distress Peacock Feathers ink. The image is colored with copics. I printed the image on white cardstock so I used Antique Linen Distress ink to cover up the white. It just didn't look right with the cream cardstock.

I had to order a new Vagabond after being without one for over a month. Boy was I happy to get it. I went die cuttin' crazy on this card. I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels, Marianne Designs, Magnolia Doohickey tag, and Sizzix/Hero Arts Stamp and die butterfly set. I topped the doohickey tag with a Marianne Designs crown to make the tag. The inside sentiment is from Stampendous. I can't remember where the other sentiment came from.

Embellishments used are cream ribbon, homemade pin, Stickles Crystal and Lagoon, Wink of Stella Clear pen. I used stickles on the image wings, sash, and dress. The butterflys and words "Hugs and Laugh" are done with Wink of Stella.

LTSCB #48 Anything Goes!

It's time for another great challenge over at the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog. This is an "Anything Goes" challenge, so get your creative minds to working and join in. Our lovely sponsors this time around are:

Prize: 2 images of choice to winner/3 images if they used a TSB image

Prize: 3 images of choice to winner

Prize: $10 gift certificate to winner
For anything goes challenges, I like to deviate from the normal cards and do something that is different. This time around I chose to make a primitive lamp using a paper mache' tissue box that I bought at Crafts 2000. The image set that I chose to work with is called Daisies-Ladybugs from Fred She Said Designs. This set comes with several images both colored and uncolored as well as a sky w/ cloud background paper. I used the single daisy w/o stem, ladybugs, and daisy chain. I cropped the daisy chain twice in Word to just get the two end flowers. Here is my creation:

I used this as a donation for a church dinner door prize.  There is a lot of layering and playing around in Word to get this all together. I ended up just printing the larger center daisies separately and gluing them to the paper. I printed everything out as a mirror image, colored them with copics, and then copied the whole thing onto the Decor Attitude sheet that I used a couple of challenges ago. I then just had to glue it to the box that I painted with acrylic paints. I colored some dewdrops with alcohol ink and glued them down. I covered the whole box with spray varnish before adding the doily and electric candle to the top. I inked the edge of the doily with copics as well.

I also made a card using the same images. This time though, I just printed everything out and cut out the flowers instead of trying to layer everything into a single image.

I hope this will inspire you to join us for our "Anything Goes" challenge. Just make sure you use some kind of stamping. The challenge begins today and runs through March 1st.

LTSCB #47 Love is in the Air

Welcome to another challenge at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog. The theme is "Love is in the Air". This can be just about anything that shows some love: Valentines Day, Wedding, Anniversary, etc. Our 3 sponsors for this challenge are:

Prize: Surprise Goody Bag

Prize: 20% off website certificate to winner

Prize $20 gift certificate to winner

I was tickled pink to receive the stamp set  Tobi's Bear Hugs from Your Next Stamp. I so appreciate Karen for this fantastic gift. It is soooo cute! I am not good at coloring fur since I have not really had any training or colored very many animals, but I gave it a try.
Here is what I came up with:

The Inside:

The Background DP is from the Ohh La La Creations White Rabbit Collection from their Kiddiwinks CD. I still don't have a die cut machine although I did buy a new Vagabond and am waiting for delivery (I can't wait). I traced around the die and cut it out then stamped the image in the middle. I inked around the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and mounted it with foam tape. I hand glued the stones around the sentiment. The silver bead strands were found at Crafts 2000 in the wedding aisle. Both sentiments were done on Word. The ribbon was some that had came on a gift as the bow. I just undid the bow and used it this way. You can't really see the outside sentiment, but it says "Nothing Says I Love You..." I covered that heart with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush and added some stickles to the little girls cuffs, sock lace, bow, and flowers.

Ingredients:

Stamp: Tobi's Bear Hugs from Your Next Stamp
Inks: Black Momento, Worn Lipstick DI, Copic Markers
Dies and punches: Heart punches from Creative Memories, Heart cutting system from Creative Memories,
                             Die from Lifestyle Crafts
DP: Heart paper from Ohh La La Creations White Rabbit Collection (Kiddiwinks CD)
Embellishments: Ribbon from stash, Paper Heart Doily, Strands of silver beads, Glass Heart and 3mm Iscicle
Round stones, Wink of Stella Clear brush, Stickles

We hope you'll stop by the blog and show us some Love both with your lovely comments and your creations. You have from now until the 15th to enter. Please remember to use some kind of stamping-digital or regular. Hope to see you there!
