My Last Entry for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags

This is my final attempt at participating in Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. This snow globe is able to be used as an ornament, which is my intention. This is going to be my contribution for the stockings at our annual family gathering. I believe I have to make 14 of these. These were made using Stampin Up products. My demonstrator, Robyn Cardon, sent me a holiday catalog. When I saw these products, I knew I had to have them. I love making shakers and snow globes are fantastic. I used the Snow Globe Scene Dies and the Snow Globe Shaker Domes. There is a coordinating Stamp set, but I did not use it. It is called Still Scenes and includes a sentiment for both the inside and outside of a card. I think that is great because you don't find that very often in a set. Because Stampin Up was not a sponsor for any of the days of tags it was difficult to really put it in any particular day. There were days that used reindeer and days that used shakers. The Lawn Fawn day had a lot of shaker snow globes so it kind of fits in there. I don't have products by a lot of the sponsors, so I had to use what I had. I really enjoyed every tag and just wanted to participate as much as possible. Thanks Tracey for a month of fun and inspiration!

In my Instagram post I said that I mimicked a You Tube tutorial. When I received these snow globe items I wanted to make sure I used them properly. I watched several tutorials. I liked this design so I tried to copy it and just put my own spin on it. I don't know how to post the link to the video but if you search Stampin Up snow globe shaker Domes you will find it. It is done by Pretty In Paper Crafts with Tiffany Almeida.

Thanks for stopping by.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: My Lawn Fawn Tag

I fell in love with this tag by Maine Simon over at Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags day 21 sponsored by Lawn Fawn. I ordered all of the products and made my own following her video tutorial. The only real differences are that I added a gingerbread man and put glossy accents on the candy after adding glitter with my gellyroll Stardust pen. I suffer from hand tremors and so things didn't work out quite as neatly as hers did, but for a first attempt at something so small I was satisfied.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Simon Says Stamp Inspiration

Here is one more tag for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. This one is inspired by Shari Carroll of Simon Says Stamps which sponsored day 10. I love her work plus she used several Tim Holtz elements. I used a Sizzix 3D snowflake embossing folder. I sprayed the cardstock with Altenew iridescent spray to make it shiny. I used my Tim Holtz snowflake rosette die, shapers and movers small poinsettia, the smallest of the Tattered Poinsettia big die flowers, rock candy glitter, a word band (which happens to be my favorite Christmas movie), and long fasteners. Oh, and I inked the poinsettia with Distress Ink-Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, and Vintage Photo.

Here's a link to Day 10 so that you can see all of the great tags. You have to click on the link to SSS blog to see Shari's tag and video.

25 Days of tags: My Altenew Inspiration

Tracey McNeely does a 25 Days Of Tags inspiration for Christmas. She has done this for many years. Here is my submission based on the first day. Altenew is one of my favorite companies. My inspiration came from Tracey's tag with her layered florals and bow. I also like how she tops of her tags with some kind of adornment like jingle bells. All of the posts can be found on her Blog: inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.com. Tomorrow is the last day, but you can still check out all the great tags. Each daily sponsor has a great prize to give away.

One Final Stamptember Submission

Recently, one of the blogs to which I subscribe had a post about Mama Elephant's new release. When I saw the Mama Elephant collaboration with SSS I  got excited. I had checked out their new release blog hop and fell in love with Fuzzy Hugs. I had to order it in hopes that it would come in time to participate in the Stamptember challenge. Doing a CAS card allowed me to get a card done just in time. I used one of the adorable images on the front of the card and another on the inside. The sentiment is also from the set. The hearts are a SSS die called Clipping Heart. I inlaid some of the hearts into the outline and used a few more to embellish the inside.

And the final challenge: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/mama-elephant-stamptember-2019-exclusive-collaboration/

This was a quickie. I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting.

Stamptember is at an end

This is the first year I have participated in Stamptember events at Simon Says Stamp. It has been a lot of fun. I should have made a lot more projects, but I have to say that this is most cards I have made in a long time. I have had a lot of fun, but I realized just how out of practice I have become-especially at coloring. I used to be a lot better at shading and blending. Wow, do I need practice.

That being said, please excuse the coloring of these cute images by Studio Katia. I made a shaker card this time using the Seashell Shaker Die. This die cuts 3 layers when you use it. I used the inner-most detail layer inside my window and the out-line detailed layer on the inside of my card. There is also a thin outline of the entire die that I could have used to outline my window (but I didn't think of that until now). I filled the shaker with different things. The pearls and fish bowl beads (what I normally call dew drops) were actually from a slime kit lol. Those pearls are way to pretty for slime! I also added glitter and sequins. After the shaker was assembled, I saw that I didn't add enough stuff, but the foam tape was a new kind and was so strong that I couldn't take the card apart without ripping it.

The images and sentiment are from Studio Katia's Under the Sea set. There are coordinationg dies that you can find here. I used them to cut out the ray, but I don't really like a lot of white space around my images so I ended up fussy cutting. I tried out my Arteza real brush markers, but I am not very good at using them. I didn't like it, so I tried adding Prisma colored pencils. They helped, but as I said, I am way out of practice. I applied Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to add some sparkle to them also. I used the Bubbles Stencils and White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to add clear, sparkly bubbles to the card.

Stamptember with Altenew

I'm back for another Stamptember challenge. This time I am using Altenew products. They recently had a promotion for $50 off of their brush markers. I took advantage of buying the bundle that had all of them in it along with some pallets and brushes. I also order the pan of watercolors. I've been wanting these ever since they came out but couldn't really justify spending the money since I have other brands of markers and paints.

I am not used to using these and am not very good but have made up my mind to use them and practice so that I can keep improving. I tried my hand at no-line watercoloring using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set and the Wallpaper Art stamp and die bundle.  The Sentiment is from the Altenew Dotted Blooms set. There is room for improvement, but considering it was my first time to do it, it could have been worse.

My background was done using Studio Katia's Brushstrokes Waves Stencils and Altenew's Sweet Dreams Mini Cube Set for an ombre effect. After applying the ink, I got out my Altenew Jet Black ink spray and applied some spatters. I then put the stencil back on and applied Faber Castell's Glass Bead Glitter Gel (Check out that sparkle!). I die cut the flowers and applied them to the base. I decided to apply clear Wink of Stella to the leaves and flowers since the background was so sparkly. I cut the panel down to 4x5.25 inches and applied it to a white card base with foam tape.

Here's my card:

Stamptember Celebration with Picket Fence Studios

Here is my next creation for Stamptember over at Simon Says Stamp. While going through some new products that I had never put away, I found a Stamp set by Picket Fence Studios called Cali Kitten. I forgot I had it. I thought "Yay! I can enter the contest!" I must have ordered it when I got my blending brushes. I wanted to do a CAS card and thought this stamp would look great in black against a red card base. I love how this card turned out.

After stamping the image in Black ink, I stamped it again VersaMark and embossed it with a clear glitter embossing powder called Sparkle from Sparkle and Sprinkle. I embossed it twice to try to get it extra sparkly. Some creative masking and stamping with sentiments from Stampin' Up's Pretty Kitty set and Hero Arts' Curious Cats set made up my greeting. I thought the touch of red to match the card base was a good idea. Both the cardstock and i.nk are Cherry Cobbler from Stampin' Up. I added some 4 mm red rhinestones from Pizzazz Aplenty for a little extra embellishment.

I've never done this type of card. I'm trying all kinds of new things lol. I really like it and I hope that you do too. Thanks for stopping.

Its Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp

When I saw that it was Stamptember over Simon Says Stamp, I came out of hiding to participate. I ordered some things and got into my stock to come up with this card for the Colorado Craft Company Challenge. All month SSS is collaberating with different companies to release exclusive products available while supplies last. Unfortunately, I could not afford everything at . and some of what I wanted disappeared the first day they went on sale. While I did not buy the exclusive set from 3C, I did buy Lovely Legs Bethlehem's Light and created this card:

I did some ink blending with my new Life Changing Brushes by Picket Fence Studios and Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire on a piece of white cardstock. I took a piece of watercoH
I stamped the star in Antique Linen for placement purposes before I did my ink blending. Afterward I got out my BoBunny Lemonade Glitter Paste and Altenew's Warp Speed Stencil to emulate sparkly rays coming from the star. I stamped the star again with Mustard Seed and a second time with Squeezed Lemonade and fussy cut it. I applied clear Wink of Stella. I wanted more glitter, so I tried my yellow Zig glitter marker. It was still not enough for me, so I took my finger and applied the glitter paste. I cut some foam tape to pop it up off of the card and did the same to my manger.

I then decided to apply Wink of Stella to the hay, sheep, and blanket. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called Star of Light and is embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder. When I get the inside finished I will use the other part of the sentiment that says "Became the Light of the World". I then used some White Glimmer Metallic Ink to add some stars in the background. I am new to doing this, so I made some mistakes.

Thanks for stopping by.

2019 SPRING | SUMMER COFFEE LOVERS BLOG HOP!

Hi everyone. It has been years since I have put anything on this blog. I still do not have internet and when I try to use my phone as a hotspot, it doesn't work. Since I started going to exercise classes almost every night I can't get to the library either.

In any case, I came upon this hop and wanted to join in. I don't drink coffee and do not have any such stamps, but I did remember that I had this stamp and embossing folder set, which still fits the theme. Here is the card that I made:

I have no idea what brand this image and folder are. I received it as a free gift with one of the issues of a cardmaking/papercrafting magazine that I had subscribed to. It didn't come with any coffee or tea sentiments, so I had to make my own. I don't have very neat handwriting or lettering, but it could have been worse. I added shimmer to the background with Altenew Iridescent Spray. I also added Wink of Stella clear pen to the doilies and cups for extra glitter. You can see it somewhat in the pictures.

I'm linking to the hop HERE. Check it out. They have a lot of great sponsors who are offering a lot of great prizes. Link up a card tonight to be eligible for tomorrow's flash prizes. You have tomorrow to visit blogs and comment on them to be able to win sponsor prizes.

Have fun and thanks for looking at my card!
