My son celebrated his 21st birthday on a naval base in Pensacola Florida. It is the first birthday we have not celebrated with him:(
I found a contest on the Besties website that ends today. I hope I got this in time. Sherri came out with some really cute images with a Wizard of Oz theme. Since Eric is away from home, I chose the image that resembles Dorothy. There was a spot at the end of the movie (if I remember correctly) where Glenda tells her click her heels and say "There's no place like home." I wanted to incorporate that idea. I also wanted to do a patriotic theme since he is in the Navy. This is what I came up with. A CAS card with no bells or whistles since he probably won't keep the card anyway.
The only glitz on this card is Stardust and Waterfall Stickles. The flag stamp is from Sparkle and Sprinkle. The image is from My Besties Oz collection. The birthday sentiment is from The Scrapbooking Queen. The dies were all from Spellbinders and Lifestyles Crafts. The images were colored with copics and inked with Memento.

Tilda birthday card
I made this card for a lady in our church who celebrated her 90th birthday on the 12th. Unfortunately, she celebrated in the hospital. She lives alone and she had fallen. No one is sure how long she laid on the floor before she was found, but God was watching over her. She was not severely dehydrated or injured. After spending several days in the hospital she has been moved to a nursing home. She probably won't be going back home. Anyway, here is the card:
I forgot to check the paper manufacturer. I think it is Kurio. The die is from Memory Box. I cut it in half. The circle came from the inside of the die. I colored Tim Holtz metallic ribbon with a copic marker and attached it to the die. The outside part of the die is covered with stickles (sorry you can't see it). The image is Tilda with Ugg Shoes. This is one of my favorites. She was cut using a die from Lifestyles Crafts. I covered the whole thing with Antique Linen distress ink. I then only colored the dress, shoes, and butterflies. Sickles was applied to glitz it up. I had a lot of glitter tulle from my daughter's wedding in silver and turquoise. I cut a 6 inch piece of each, fanfolded them (seperately), folded in half and adhered. I then fanned them out in a half circle behind the die cut.
Here is another simpler version. I mass produced these for a card swap. The ladies in the swap prefer CAS cards, so I toned down the original:

This version shows one piece of tulle, but for the swap, I left out the tulle. I did the image the same way, but I took a black glaze pen and traced over the antennae and legs of the butterfly. This DP is from My Minds Eye. On the inside, instead of using ribbon (I didn't have enough) I used a double-sided tape similar to score tape. I covered it with embossing glitter. I also left out the pin.

4th of July Card
This card was made using this week's sketch from Mojo Monday. I discovered that they are having a fantastic giveaway this week. The theme for July's Magnolialicious Mingle is 4th of July or Red-White-and Blue. Hence another reason to make this card. I hope I don't spoil someone's surprise by posting before mailing.
The puppy is an adorable image by Priscilla Heaton aka Priscilla Styles. I paired it with Tilda Holding Egg Basket by Magnolia. I had to shrink her down though to scale it to the puppy. The Flag is a stamp from Sparkle and Sprinkle. I placed a cut out using Tilda Lace Die (also Magnolia) I colored everything with copics and put stickles on the stars, balloons, lace die and other places. Flower soft is in the basket and on the ground. I handmade a tiny flag and attached it to a toothpick that I had cut down. The circle is vellum which I sprayed with PK Glitz Ritzy Ditz. USA is from another stamp set from Sparkle and Sprinkle. The heart is done using a Creative Memories punch. I put holes in it using my big bite and covered it with 3D Crystal Lacquer and China Red Glitter from PK Glitz. The owners of this store decided to go out of business. I am going to have to find new glitter when I run out:( I made faux stitching with a distress pen and inked the edges with Barn Door Distress Ink.

CDAC Progressive Challenge Entry #4
This is my 4th and final entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge. The girl image and sentiment are provided by Back To Paper. The sandcastle and starfish are stamps by ?. The DP is from Imaginisce. Everything is colored with copics. I changed the girl's outfit from a dress with a bow to a hula skirt and "bikini" top. I added stickles to the clothes, flower, and sentiment.
