This challenge is called "Words to Inspire" I was given some fabulous items to work with. They also offer some great freebies on their shop site. I decided to do 2 cards for this challenge.
I needed an encouragement card to send to someone. I figured what better words to inspire than those of encouragement. For this card I chose the free Birdhouse image (which I popped with foam tape), blue diamond digi paper, and bird insert. I also used a flower digi paper that I was given from the Say it With Words CD that they sell. Here is the card:
The thing that I love about these images is that they are precolored. I spend so much time coloring images. It was nice not having to do that. They also offer coordinating papers so that you don't have to try to find things that match and spend time searching through all of your paper. If you're like me you have a bunch LOL. I just had to print and cut. I used Stickles to bling up the image. I added some ribbon and made a pin for extra bling. I chose to add a dragonfly charm because there are dragonflies on the inside of the card between the birds.
Here is the inside of the card.
I copied the free insert onto Microsoft word and sized it to fit on the top half of an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. Then I cut the cardstock in half and had an instant A4 size card. Then I just had to cut the other printed papers and adhere to the front. I made a smaller image, cut it out and adhered it to the inside of the card. Then I again added Stickles to it.
Recipe:
Digital papers: Ohh La La Freebies and Flower Bouquet from the Say it with Words CD
Ribbon: White satin ribbon inked with copic R32
Punch: EK Success punch on white cardstock that was then inked with R32
Stamps: KC Andrews (no longer in business but might on ebay or somewhere), and Rubber Cottage "Someday Will"
Inks: Close To My Heart Blue and Distress Crushed Velvet
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Stickles (various colors), Corsage pin to which were added beads, spacers, a jump ring and dragonfly charm.
I know this is a long post. Bear with me please. I made another card using an image and papers from the Marriage portion of the Say it With Words CD that was graciously provide to me. If you saw my last post you know that my Vagabond is broken. I hate not being able to die cut things. So I took out the one Marianne Design die that I own and ran my finger over the cardstock to make impressions. Then I tediously cut out all the tiny pieces with a craft knife. Boy was my hand tired! I used scissors to cut around it. It is not as nice as a die cut would be-but here it is:
The image and papers are all from Ohh La La's Marriage portion of the Say it With Words CD. This time however I used a premade 5.25 x 5.25 inch square card. I had to adhere the insert to the card after I printed it out. When I folded it all together it didn't match up perfectly so I had to trim it. The image is rectangular. I just cropped it to the size I needed and cut it out using my Creative Memories circle cutting system. I then put it on the "die cut". I used a Wink of Stella gold glitter pen and a Gellyroll Clear Stardust pen to add glitz to the arrows on the papers. I love the glitter specialty papers from Michaels. Since I used a silver glitter ribbon, I used the silver glitter paper to go with it. I use Staz On Black to stamp because I am not sure if other inks will smear.
Delicata Gold Ink went on the inside sentiment. To make the bow I just cut a piece of the glitter ribbon and folded the ends to the middle. I gathered it and used a piece of silver metallic ribbon to tie it together in the middle. I attached it with glue dots. A white pearl pen made the dots on the die cut. The stamps are from Fiskars and Stampin Up.
