Magnolia Nativity

Hi everyone. I tried so hard this past week to get this finished for the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog's Christmas blog hop challenge, but alas I did not make it. My foot is slowly healing and I am able to get around some now, so I wanted to give this a try. I thought I had until Nov 30 at midnight, but guess not. Anyway, it fits in with the current challenge of anything goes, so I can still enter it for a chance to win something great. I love Magnolia images! Here is the picture of my big project:

This is made using paper mache tissue boxes that I bought at a nearby craft store. I spray painted them with cream colored paint and covered them with decorative paper from Timbergrove. I used Lace Tape to cover the place where the paper joined. I used all of the nativity collection images. I forgot to write them down before I left to go to the library, so I will have to add them later. On top of the end pieces are plug in electric candles. I added a taper hanger and poinsettia ring to them. The star is an ornament I found at the same craft store. I wanted something smaller, but there was not a lot to choose from. The snowflakes are the small doohickey die from the snowflake kit. I cut them out of grunge paper and painted them with sea glass acrylic paint. I then covered them with gloss PPA and sprinkled them with clear microfine glitter. I added a rhinestone to the center of each. The letters were painted with ivory acrylic paint and distressed with the sea glass. I added frantage and microfine clear glitter also.

I used copics to color the images. I also added stickles and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush to give them some sparkle. I used a Tim Holtz jump ring to attach the angel to the hanger. The images are mounted to grunge board to add thickness and make them more sturdy. I also cover all paper and images with glue and seal for added protection.

Bear with me. Here are lots of closeups:

This is going to be a Christmas gift for my mom. She collects nativities.
